Sunday Afternoons in August

Join us during August for any of these activities. An opportunity for the Church family to spend time together, get to know new people, and simply relax. All are welcome, come on your own, young or old…

Sunday 5th August            Exmouth Beach                1pm onwards

Meet at the new Lifeboat Station between 1 & 1.30pm.
Bring your lunch, deck chairs, swimming gear, bucket and spade etc.
Led by Gudrun Thomas

Sunday 12th August         Afternoon walk   1.30pm at the Reservoir

This really is for everyone. The reservoirs give plenty of choice from the serious walker to the person who’d rather just sit and enjoy the view. We meet at car park between the two lakes between 1.30 and 2pm. Bring a picnic and choose how strenuous you intend to be. It’s a half hour drive from here.                                                                                    Led by Paul Ramsbottom.

Sunday 19th August    Barbecue at The Rectory      4pm onwards

Everyone is welcome to the Rectory. To find us, walk down Lovelace Gardens behind the church and look for the balloons. We’re at the end of the short drive. Mike and family are hoping to see lots of people and we’ll be inviting the neighbours too. Bring something to eat, drink, cook, share etc…
Led by Mike Partridge

Sunday  26th August                      Swimming at Sue & Roger’s.

Bring picnic food, or something to cook on the barbecue.   1.30pm onwards.
From Alphington, take the road past Ide and continue until you come to a T junction. Turn left on the B3212 towards Moretonhampstead. Go up the steep hill passing under the A30. At the top, and after a couple of tight bends, the road straightens out. Proceed along the straight until the road bends right and rises again. Just around the bend on the left is a street light on a wooden pole. This is just outside the house. The house is called Ardtalla and there are two troughs of flowers on the verge right outside. We will also put a traffic cone on the verge. If you get as far as the Lamb Inn you have gone 1/2 mile too far! Please drive in and park as neatly as you can bearing in mind that others will want to park also. Please don’t park on the right unless all other spaces are filled. You can also park in the lay-by on the left just past the entrance.
